Pakistan: Representing Christ in the midst of uncertainty
Pakistan is still one of the most conflicted nuclear powers in the world . Pervez Musharraf has finally left his position as General of the Army, but this was to endow his claim to the presidency with more legitimacy. The army has in recent months been shaken by his problems as its leader and by a series of attacks by Islamists connected to the Taliban and Al Qaeda, mostly in the western part of the country. In the mean time Musharraf is still holding hundreds of lawyers in prison and keeping the Chief Justice under house arrest. There is a small and generally despised Christian community in Pakistan. Pray for them to remain faithful, and that the few Christians in the influential class will be given wisdom to represent Christ in the midst of the uncertainty still extant in that country.
