Recent news from Nigeria indicates that the fighting between Muslimsand Christians in the Kano area has diminished. The Muslims in power are now claiming they want to be more "moderate" in their application of Sharia Law and there is little interest in the strict enforcement of Sharia by the police. Pray that those in power will indeed ensure that those who belong to Him will be given the protection that will allow them to live "quiet and peaceful lives" before their neighbors. Pray that an authentic display of Christ's love will come forth from the small number of embattled Christians in the northern (and mainly Muslim) sectors of Nigeria. [12/1/07]
